Breast Exam Without the Squeeze

Medical Thermography (Friday, September 16th 2011)

A digital heat image of the breasts is taken. Then the hands are submerged in cold water & a second digital heat image is taken. The cold water has an impact on the nervous system & causes the constriction of all blood vessels in the breast. This vasoconstriction then causes a decrease in the temperature of the breast. Any breast tissue which does not respond appropriately with a decrease in temperature is considered an area of concern as it represents that physiological changes have taken place.

Your Naturopathic Doctor can make recommendations to improve the health of your breast tissue in areas of concern & decrease your risk of breast cancer.

Digital Infrared Imaging..

  • Uses a digital infrared imaging camera and high speed computer
  • Explores breast physiology
  • Measures metabolic activity in cells: problem areas show higher temperatures
  • Permits the monitoring of your breast health as you seek to improve your health

Major Benefits of Digital Infrared Imaging

  • Problems can be found before abnormalities are seen with mammograms
  • Early detection provides the best outcome
  • Seek treatment to improve sub-optimal health
  • Examines the whole chest, breasts, and armpit areas
  • Good for all ages: puberty, pregnant, breast feeding, pre-menopausal years and post menopausal years
  • Good for all breast types: dense, pregnant, breastfeeding, fibrocystic, enhanced (implants) and women on oral hormone medication (BCP & HRT)
  • No squeezing, no pressure, no touching by equipment or technician
  • No harmful rays emitted so digital infrared imaging scan can be done as often as needed to monitor breast health and to guide treatment
  • Digital infrared imaging results are a better indicator of future breast disease, than a family history of disease
